Karen is a strategic communications professional with a wealth of experience in campaign development, partnership activation, public advocacy and event planning.
Karen has worked for leading businesses, foundations and NGOs across the sport, entertainment, community engagement and international social justice sectors.
She is adept at creating digital content, devising brand strategies, and engaging global audiences to play a role in tackling some of the world’s most critical social issues, including legal equality, empowering women and girls, gender-based violence and access to justice. While at international human rights NGO, Equality Now, and at the Avon Foundation for Women, Karen has led on successful communications campaigns for a diverse range of partners, including on Gucci’s global “Chime for Change” gender equality initiative, Participant Media's “Take Part” youth advocacy platform, for grassroots cause-related organizations across the world, and corporate citizenship programs for Reebok, Genentech and Novartis.
She has also worked in television production on three Olympic Games and varied sporting events for NBC Olympics and NBC Sports, earning four Sports Emmy Awards for her work; five NYC Marathons and hundreds of annual races for New York Road Runners; and on national race and walk series for the Avon Foundation. Karen holds a B.A. in Media Studies, with a minor in International Studies from Penn State University.
